Where can I take old safes and metal shelving from my office in the UK? (66 views)

We dismantled the old archive at our office in the Clydebank area of Glasgow (UK). A pile of bulky junk was left in the basement: a couple of metal safes that were too heavy to move, rusty shelving units, and old filing cabinets. Its illegal to dump such items in regular street dumpsters - in the UK, the local council imposes a hefty fine for dumping oversized commercial scrap in public areas. Can you advise us on how to quickly remove and haul away this scrap metal?

Make sure you dont haul it out to the street bins - the sanitation workers clear out such heavy piles in no time, and its easy to hurt your back. We solved the problem quickly at our company: we ordered office waste collection - its a great service that takes care of all the heavy lifting. The guys showed up with their own equipment, hauled everything out of the basement themselves, loaded it up, and gave us a disposal receipt. Are you planning to use the basement space for storage?
