PlayStation (PS5 / PS4)

On PlayStation, turning off crossplay is simple and can be done in-game:

Launch MLB The Show 26 and go to the Main Menu.

Highlight and select your Universal Profile icon in the top-left corner.

Open the My Profile or Settings tab.

Find the Crossplay toggle and switch it Off.

Tip: If the toggle looks greyed out, make sure you’re at the Main Menu, not inside Diamond Dynasty or another mode.

Xbox (Series X|S / Xbox One)

On Xbox, the in-game toggle often doesn’t work. You need to block crossplay at the console system level:

Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.

Navigate to Profile & system > Settings > Account.

Select Privacy & online safety > Xbox privacy.

Choose View details & customize > Communication & multiplayer.

Find "You can join cross-network play" and set it to Block.

Note: This blocks crossplay for all games on your Xbox, not just MLB The Show.

Key Things to Know

Longer Matchmaking Times – With crossplay off, you’ll only match with players on the same console, which can increase wait times.

Always Change From Main Menu – Trying to toggle crossplay inside Diamond Dynasty often won’t work.

Competitive Preference – Some players turn crossplay off to avoid tough lobbies or perceived advantages from other consoles.

Turning off crossplay can make your games feel more fair and familiar, but remember it can also slow matchmaking. Adjust based on your preference for challenge vs convenience.
