What actually goes into a proper Infiniti maintenance visit and how do you know if it was done right? (99 อ่าน)

Hi, so I'll be honest I've always been the kind of person who drops the car off, pays the bill and drives away without really understanding what was actually done and whether it was done properly. That worked fine when everything was under warranty because I figured the dealership had accountability but now that my Infiniti EX35 is six years old and I'm looking at independent options I feel like I need to actually understand the process better before I can even judge whether a service center is doing a good job or just going through the motions. I started reading more carefully online and came across infinitiservicemussafah.ae which had some useful breakdowns of what different service intervals actually involve and it got me genuinely curious about what separates a thorough maintenance visit from one that just looks thorough on paper. Like when people talk about Infiniti Maintenance Experts Abu Dhabi what does that actually mean in practical terms, is it about the equipment they use, the training the technicians have, or just the years of experience working specifically on this brand. My car has been making a very faint whining sound when I turn the steering wheel at low speeds and I mentioned it to a general mechanic near my building who said it was probably nothing to worry about, but something about that answer didn't sit right with me because in my experience cars don't make new sounds for no reason. I want to go somewhere that will actually investigate rather than dismiss it and I want to understand enough about the process to know whether they're being thorough or just telling me what I want to hear. Is there a way to ask the right questions when you walk into a workshop so you can gauge pretty quickly whether the people there actually know Infiniti vehicles well or whether they're just confident talkers?

The real test is asking them to explain a symptom before they touch the car, not after. Good technicians can usually narrow down a few likely causes just from description and steering wheel behavior at different speeds. If they immediately want to start replacing parts without that conversation first, that's a sign they are guessing rather than diagnosing. Years of brand specific experience usually shows in how they talk through the problem.

Whining sound at low steering speeds is classic power steering fluid low or pump starting to wear, very common on EX35s at that age. A mechanic dismissing that without even checking fluid level is exactly the red flag you noticed. Any specialist should investigate it rather than brush it off.

Ask them to show you the old parts they remove during service, filters, fluids, anything replaced. A shop confident in their work will always show you rather than just telling you it's done.

Ask specifically what fluids and filters are OEM versus aftermarket for your service. A proper specialist will know the difference and have a clear answer immediately.

Get a second opinion on that steering noise before it gets dismissed twice. Power steering issues left unaddressed eventually lead to pump failure which costs significantly more than catching it early. Trust your instinct, new sounds rarely mean nothing on a six year old car.
