Lily Chloe Ninette Thomson, an English on-screen character, was invented by Lily James on April 5, 1989. She studied acting at London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama before beginning her career as an actor in the British television series Just William (2010). After playing a supporting role in the historical drama Downton Abbey (2012–2015), James's big break came when she played the title role in the dream movie Cinderella (2015).
