Are display pallets worth it for a small retail floor or just a gimmick? (13 อ่าน)

We opened a small concept store in Dubai Marina last month selling specialty coffee beans and some packaged snacks, and the layout is still a work in progress honestly. Our merchandiser keeps pushing us to use low display platforms instead of standard shelving for the bulk items near the entrance, says it looks more premium and customers can browse easily. I see the appeal but I am not sure it is worth the investment when we are still figuring out what actually sells. The ones I looked at are around 800x600x150mm which seems like a decent size for a small corner setup, not too bulky. But are these things sturdy enough for stacking heavier stuff like glass jars, or do they start wobbling once you load them properly? Also how do you keep them clean because the textured surface looks like it would trap dust and spills. Curious if anyone here uses a display pallet in a retail setting and whether customers actually respond to it or it is just something merchandisers like on paper.
